Learn to make your own native plant medicine in my educational workshop which blends traditional Màori plant knowledge and science. You will take away the knowledge of how to identify native plants and get to make your own treasures, including a kawakawa balm and manuka liquid tincture to take home.
At your very own workstation, you will be shown how to recognise some of our more popular native herbs - Manuka, Kawakawa and Kanuka. You'll discover the special properties of these plants and in what ways they can be used. You will also learn how to make these into healing balms and liquid tinctures for year-round use for your health and wellbeing.
During the workshop, you'll make a personal connection to the beauty and serenity of the Okere Falls sub-tropical Rainforest as we walk through the bush identifying native herbs recognised for their powerful medicinal qualities.
You will leave my workshop with an understanding of some of the special benefits of herbal medicine and why it has been used for generations.
